The Platform includes an AI-powered tutor that responds to questions and provides learning guidance. By using the AI Tutor, you acknowledge and agree that:
Lumina monitors the AI Tutor for safety and appropriateness and may review interactions where a safeguarding concern is raised or suspected.
Lumina content
All content on the Platform — including but not limited to videos, text, images, graphics, course materials, branding, logos, and software — is owned by or licensed to Lumina and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may access and use Lumina content solely for your personal, non-commercial learning purposes. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from any Lumina content without our prior written permission.
Your content
When you submit tasks, text responses, image uploads, or other content through the Platform ("User Content"), you retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting User Content, you grant Lumina a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process your User Content for the purposes of operating and improving the Platform.
You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party and does not contain any material that is unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate.
As you progress through courses, you may earn badges that reflect your learning journey on the Platform. These badges are issued by Lumina and represent completion of specific lessons or milestones within the Platform.
Lumina badges are not formal qualifications, industry-recognised certifications, or academic credentials. They should not be presented or relied upon as such.
Access to the Platform may be free or subject to fees depending on the plan or arrangement in place. Where fees apply:
If you access the Platform through a partner institution, the institution may be responsible for fees on your behalf. In such cases, the payment terms agreed between Lumina and the institution apply.
Where a partner institution (such as a school, college, or organisation) enrols learners on the Platform, the institution is responsible for:
Lumina may enter into separate agreements with partner institutions that supplement these Terms. Where such agreements exist, they take priority over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.
Lumina collects and processes personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details of how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Lumina Privacy Policy.
Lumina aims to keep the Platform available at all times but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without prior notice. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to inform users in advance.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.
The Platform may contain links to external websites or integrate with third-party services (including the AI provider that powers the AI Tutor). Lumina is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service.
Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk and subject to that service's own terms and conditions.
Lumina may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make changes:

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
